This place does an incredibly great job of helping person suffering from addiction and mental illnesses. The organization provides for homeless people free of charge substance abuse and alcohol treatment that is second to none evidence based. Once homeless clients are cleaned New Hope helps them get jobs and successfully discharge them into permanent housing. And they do all that with very small budget. Clients who qualify for food stamps need to surrender their food stamps and the organization use that money to cover part of the food cost. The food expenses are closely monitored by the state to ensure that only eligible food are buy with the food stamps money. Copies of receipts are audited on a regular basis. When it comes to discipline, the residential program has 60 beds occupied by adult men in early recovery. Major rule violations like violence, threats or bringing contraband in the facility are grounds for immediate discharge. That is the reason why the facility in always kept nice, in order and drug free. In regards to the head counts, New Hope is not a locked down facility, they are not required to do head counts because clients are there on a volunteer basis, they can sign out and walk away at any time. I honestly believe that this is the best treatment center in Florida. Some clients are not successful because they are not ready for recovery during their current episode of care (maybe they will in the next one); however, the vast majority of New Hope clients do go into recovery and that is an impressive accomplishment.
They have a great staff that really cares. Dina is the best therapist ever. The staff is incredibly compassionate and caring. I had a family visit and saw first hand how difficult the clients act and the loving way in which the staff responded to the unreasonable and unrealistic expectations of the clients they had dealt with that day. it is really incredible how the staff can stay so calm when Dealing with so many clients that cant seem to remember the reason they came looking for help to begin with.
Great facility! I recommend this treatment center to anyone who wants to give up the high cost of low living.
